a little bit about me

Born and bred in Oxford, UK, studied at at Oxfordshire School of Art and Design. I went to work in London straight out of college and was thrown in to the deep end on day one.  I started working in the entertainment sector, working on producing graphics for movies (Face Off, The Avengers and Hercules to name a few), album covers and graphics for websites (BBC). I moved to the corporate sector working on Identity, before taking a gap year to travel. During this time I worked in Sydney agencies on graphics for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

I returned to London to work, this time to help set up a digital arm for an agency. I arrived in New Zealand at the end of 2003, and headed up design for a development team within Telecom (now Spark).

I left, and co-founded Pacific Shack with Debbie Fraser in 2004.

I still love design, but spend most of my time now coding. My core skillset is:

  • UX, UI and Web based Design
  • Front end Development
  • Back end Development (Server side and Databases)
  • WordPress and WooCommerce Development
  • Web Applications
  • Integrations

I also created MyWebTool, and I am Technical Principal and Developer at MYM Cosmetics.

Outside of work I dedicate my time to my kids, I love cooking and baking bread, and I cycle and organise rides with the Grey Lynn Cycle Club.
